Education & Experience
Marissa studied cosmetology under experts at Leon's Beauty School in Greensboro, NC. A beacon of excellence in cosmetology and esthetics education since 1963, Leon's Beauty School was founded by the late Leon Oldham.
Marissa was licensed to practice by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners in March of 2018; including her working education, she has been consistently in practice for over 8 years.
Marissa pursued additional training to specialize in hand-tied extensions with two of the most prestigious extention educators in the country, Habit Extension Method in Arizona and JZ Styles J-Tied Method in Utah.
Marissa trained with Lumiere House in advanced color placement techniques and advanced portfolio photography. Advanced color placement techniques include balayage, lived-in blonding, ombre, seamless color, and consultation communication techniques to ensure that each client's description of their desired outcome is translated to the final product as accurately as possible.
Marissa personally trained with celebrity hair stylist, Megan Moran (@megahairmaniac). Marissa took an advanced placement for transitioning from traditional foil highlight placement into low maintenance, open-air balayage treatment.
Marissa studied advanced color placement, balayage, and lived-in blonding with Mane Ivy's Michelle Zeller. Michelle is a nationally reknowned cosmetiologist and founder of Mane Ivy. Through Mane Ivy, Michelle developed an original line of luxury cosmetic products.
